 The Two Chamber System

The Two-Chamber System . . . separate and yet united!

Two-Chamber Bag System Layout:

Brief description
We continued to develop and refine the Two-Chamber can and the result of our development is an outlet system which combines the automatic type of application with the demands to an ecological and harmless propellant agent. Also in the future.

Pure air used as pressure agent
Within the Two-Chamber spray system the active substance is contained in a flexible inner-bag, surrounded by compressed air. Activating the valve causes pressure on this special formed inner bag, releasing the active substance only. The components of the system correspond to the standards of conventional aerosol systems. Simply the inner bag, which is mainly made of ecological harmless polyethylene and a base stopper are used in addition to maximise the technical advantages of this technology.
In some cases a propane-butane mix is used as propellant agent. However in comparison with conventional aerosol cans the quantity is reduced quite drastically. To empty a 200 ml can completely only 7 to 8 grams gas are necessary.

Ecological aspects
None or reduced atmospheric pollution due to fluid propellants!

Due to the separation of the active substance and the external container the risk of corrosion at the wall of the can is minimal to zero. This allows to use active substances with formulas based on water instead of aggressive solvents

Reduction of the waste disposal rate. Two-Chamber cans are filled with at least 60% of the total gross can volume and in contrary to cans using fluid propellants the active substance is not mixed with other materials. The high emptying rate in comparison with conventional aerosol systems ensures the adaptation of the smaller can sizes and therefore reduces the amount of waste material.

Applications
Apart from fluids, Two-Camber aerosol cans are used for pasty, cream and gel type substances.

Advantages
Unrestricted dispersion from all angles (360°)
Two-Chamber aerosol cans are adaptable in all positions without the corresponding valves.

Active Substance under airtight closure
The active substance within it’s inner-bag is almost completely sealed off from the air. This reduces the addition of preservation substances quite drastically.

No cold shocks
The cool vapour of common aerosol systems often unwelcome during application on the body, animals or plants does not apply with this system.

Up to 99.8 % extrusion
Depending on the composition of the active material the special formed inner bag guarantees the almost complete emptying of the inner bag or can.

Suitable for high and low temperatures
Air is considerably less sensitive to temperature than fluid propellants. The operating quality, reliability and safety of the “Two-Chamber” aerosol cans are guaranteed within a working range of –30°C to + 80°C. However the legislator permits a temperature up to 50°C only.

Safety FeaturesSafe in respect of fire and explosion
The compressed air which is used as propellant agent is not forced out during the application and in addition reacts slowly towards a temperature increase. In case of an overheating the can is not in danger of exploding since the critical excess pressure will be able to escape through the base stopper.
Furthermore the point of ignition of flammable components within the formula can be reduced to non-flammable.
